If you read this (thank you btw), you already know the number one struggle I have is keeping my motivation in order. I’m a good programmer, decent game designer and I’m very motivated when it’s “on” or there’s a contract with money dangling in front of me like a carrot.
I’m a Game Dev Mercenary, I guess.
So I keep searching for different tools, and I ran into this book. “Challenges for Game Designers”. The way it works is it presents different games, suggesting you beat them as challenges and create a prototype of each game if possible.
On the following posts (the posts tagged Challenge and Game Design) I’ll be explaining the logic for each of these games and sharing any prototypes I actually create. I’m trying to become a better game developer and honestly just trying to UNDERSTAND how to make things FUN and/or interesting.
Thanks for reading and let’s get this show on the road.
